Police arrest robbery suspect wanted for hitting, killing man on Northampton Blvd.

According to Sgt. Ricardo with Virginia Beach police, police have found a robbery suspect who lead police from one city to another Monday night – killing someone in the process.

Police say the suspect was taken into custody Tuesday morning by Norfolk police.

Norfolk police received a call from a citizen who went outside his home and found a man sleeping in his van and called police.

When Norfolk police arrived, they took the man into custody and alerted Virginia Beach police.

Beach police say they were chasing the man because he was a suspected robber. They say as he tried to get away from police, he struck and killed a man crossing Northampton Boulevard last night.

Norfolk police later found the car abandoned in the Norview section of the city.
